About Dr. Hensley
Ami Hensley obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University and then completed a post-graduate internship at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in San Leandro, California and has been working as a veterinarian in the Bay Area for the past 15 years. After seeing the benefit of acupuncture on her own aging cat, she became a certified veterinary acupuncturist through the Chi Institute.

Her prior education includes a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from UC Davis and a Master of Science from Purdue University where she focused on reproductive physiology in animals.

She has a particular interest in treating chronic pain and believes that eastern and western medical approaches can be used together to improve the quality of life for our pets.

She and her husband have three children and in her spare time she loves to read, travel, and spend time with her family.
